Term 2 reflection.

This term I have really enjoyed English.

Whilst completing the research tasks on my famous person (Nelson Mandela), it was interesting to discover a whole lot of different facts about him that I never knew before. Being able to work in a pair was an upside as we completed work together but enjoyed ourselves whilst doing so. I was able to get almost all of the work we were allocated done in class, except for some of my speech and a little bit of my inequality essay. My inequality essay was most probably the highlight of the work this term, it was based around a subject that I feel quite strongly about and therefore I was able to write about it in depth. I was able to modify and improve my work according to feedback before the final due date of the essay. I was given I believe I time managed myself fairly well this term, I made note of how long it would take to complete tasks and I slowly worked away at them in a timely fashion. In my opinion my speech on Nelson Mandela went really well, I didn’t feel nervous before or during my presentation and was able to focus on all of the presentation skills I needed to include such as making eye contact with the audience and using expression in my voice. Overall this term the course work was really descriptive and explanatory and I was able to understand and complete my work to the highest standard I thought possible.

25 point influential person task- Board game on Nelson Mandela.

This is a photo of Ashley and myself’s board game. As well as this game board we have printed off 4 counters, a dice which we put together ourselves and small cards with each of these questions on them, with the answer on the back, so when you pick up the question card if you land on that tile, you can see the question, but all of the other players can see the answer to tell you if you answer correctly to the question or not.

How to play:

Each player is to choose a counter and place it on the starting tile. The first player rolls the dice and moves their counter accordingly. If they land on a question, they are to pick up that question card and hold it up so that they can see the question and all other players can see the answer on the back. The person who landed on the question tile has two guesses, if they get the answer correct they move two spaces forward and if not, they move one space backwards. Some other tiles also have orders on them such as ”.Each player repeats this process over and over again and when someone reaches the finish tile, they have won the game!

Diary entry of a child living in a Nazi/German occupied country.

I feel as if I am unable to do anything, even though I am not in jail, the orders and restrictions placed on me make me feel as if I am. Us Jewish citizens aren’t allowed to do anything- use public recreational services, own a radio or automobile, my dad even got cut from his vetenerian job. The privilege of being able to see my Christian friends has been stripped from me and the fact that I cannot even leave my own house after eight at night I think is ridiculous. Every time I walk anywhere I must wear a yellow star on my shirt, but that’s pretty silly to me as we’re not even allowed to use the sidewalks? The Nazi are making life so hard to sustain for Jewish people here. All that I can wish for is this war to be over and for Jewish people to be accepted into normal society along with others.
